The Library of the Unwritten

The Library of the Unwritten by AJ Hackwith is $1.99! Carrie read this and gave it a C+, noting that it was the wrong book for her at the time, as it was dark and quite angsty. Have you read it?

In the first book of a brilliant new fantasy series, the books left unfinished by their authors sit in the Library of the Unwritten in Hell, and it’s up to the Librarian to track down any troubled characters emerging from those unfinished stories.

Many years ago, Claire was appointed Head of the Library of the Unwritten Arm – a neutral space in Hell where all the stories left unfinished by their authors reside. Her work consists mainly of repairing and organizing books, but also of observing the troubled stories that risk materializing as characters and escaping from the library. When a Hero escapes from his book and goes in search of his author, Claire must track him down and capture him with the help of former muse and current assistant Brevity and nervous demon courier Leto.

But what should have been a simple comeback goes horribly wrong when the terrifyingly angelic Ramiel attacks them, convinced that they hold the Devil’s Bible. The Devil’s Bible text is a powerful weapon in the power struggle between Heaven and Hell, so it falls to the librarians to find a book with the power to reshape the boundaries between Heaven, Hell… and Earth.

Breaking down the CEO’s buttons

Breaking down the CEO’s buttons by Mia Sosa is 99c! This contemporary romance has a taboo relationship element. However, I am skeptical about the hero and his redemption arc. Reckless driving is no joke. This is also part of the Forever Yours digital imprint, so it’s a little on the shorter side at less than 300 pages.

As the CEO of a major tech company and a semi-reformed bad guy, Ethan Hill is used to calling the shots. But when he’s sentenced to two hundred hours of community service—for reckless driving, of all things—this CEO must keep his true identity a secret. Which becomes increasingly difficult when he can’t stop thinking about his new (temporary) sex boss.

The moment Graciela Ramirez meets Ethan, she’s tempted to throw all professionalism out the window. She can’t afford to get emotionally involved, but after a steamy session behind the office doors, a no-strings-attached blowout might be just what they need. He will protect his secret. She will protect her heart. What could go wrong?

The princess will save you

The princess will save you by Sarah Henning is $2.99! This is YA fantasy as it comes The Princess Bride the vibrations. Catherine reviewed this and gave it an A-:

This was a lot of fun and really was exactly what it said on the tin – a princess bride show where the Princess is the badass warrior and the stable boy is her soft-hearted sidekick. I think it has its flaws, but I really enjoyed it, and I doubt a true Princess Bride fan would love it.

Jackal by JR Ward is $1.99! This is the first book in Black Dagger Brotherhood spin-off series: Prison camp. I left this particular group years ago, so I’m not sure if this spin-off can start on its own and if the series has changed much since the original books.

The #1 New York Times bestselling author of The Sinner brings another steamy adventure of true love and ultimate sacrifice to the Black Dagger Brotherhood world.

The location of the infamous glimmer prison camp was lost after the raids. When a freak accident gives Nyx clues as to where her sister may still be spending time, she becomes determined to find the secret underground labyrinth. Embarking on a journey underground, she learns a terrible truth – and meets a man who changes everything forever.

Jackal has been in the camp so long that he can remember nothing of the freedom he once knew. Trapped by circumstances beyond his control, he helps Nyx because he can’t help himself. After she discovers what happened to her sister, getting her back out becomes a deadly mission for both of them.

United by a passion they can’t deny, they work together on an escape plan for Nyx – even though they are destined to be forever apart. And as the Black Dagger Brotherhood is called in for help, and Rhage discovers he has a half-brother who has been falsely imprisoned, a cunning warden plots the death of everyone…even the Brothers.
