EDMOND ― One person is in custody and another has been found dead after a standoff in Edmond Wednesday morning, police say.
Around 7 a.m., officers responded to a welfare check request at a home near South Santa Fe Ave. and Castle Rock, according to Edmond Police Department spokesperson Emily Ward. A man inside the home refused police access to the property, which led to a standoff and a SWAT team was called to the scene.
Later in the morning, officers were able to take the man into custody. A bomb squad robot was used to look throughout the house, and police found the body of an adult female dead inside the home, Ward said.
“We’re still processing the scene,” Ward said. “As far as the manner of death, charges, and so forth, we’re all still investigating.”
This a developing story.
